“Through learning by doing, new neural pathways can be created to change behaviour patterns, and learn new more effective ones.”
Belvoir’s EQUINE EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING Programs (EEL)
Why do we partner with horses in nature?
Nature invites an awareness of our elemental connection to the planet. Science has shown how nature awakens areas of our brains and replenishes energetic cells. Likewise, partnership with horses has been shown to expand our human potential as we work with, and learn from, a non-judgemental being in a willing and open way. Horses and humans have a long history of working in partnership together.
Why EEL?
Belvoir’s EEL program integrates many of the Neuro Equine Model approaches and philosophy of Dr. Allan Hamilton, a Harvard-graduate brain surgeon and horse trainer and author of Zen, Mind Zen Horse: The Science and Spirituality of Working with Horses. Combined with a heart centred approach that incorporates groundbreaking research conducted by the Institute of HeartMath on how horses can positively affect humans our program will facilitate the reconnection of your heart and soul to create new and profound insights that inspire healing and growth. It is a leading edge modality which involves the horses’ willing participation as partners in assisting humans to discover their potential. Interacting on the ground with a horse and at the same time learning basic horsemanship skills is a unique time of discovery and reflection which raises consciousness for both humans and horses.
LEARNING BY DOING.
EEL activities are experiential therefore learning is accelerated because clients ‘learn by doing’. With experiential learning participants learn with all their senses, their mind, body and emotions. Through learning by doing, new neural pathways can be created to change behaviour patterns, and learn new more effective ones.

THE STATE OF EASE
There is a “state of ease” that each of us can access to help release emotional turbulence and help maintain coherent alignment between our heart, mind and emotions.
Learning to access our personal space of “inner-ease” can be done with minimum practice and in just a little time. When operating in an ease-mode, it’s easier to choose less stressful perceptions and attitudes and re-create “flow” in our daily routines.
